Baptizing a new believer in obedience to Christ

Vision

God’s ultimate goal is to glorify Himself.  Therefore, my passion is to glorify God in every aspect of my life.  In so doing, I strive for three things: (1) Treasuring Christ, (2) Making Disciples, and (3) Finishing Well.

Treasuring ChristGod is in the process of making His followers like His Son, Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:29).  Since that is what He is up to, our goal should likewise be Treasuring Christ above all.  Peter wrote, “And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, […].  This precious value, then, is for you who believe” (1 Pet. 2:4, 7).

Making Disciples—Becoming like Christ is a lifelong process.  The Bible calls this process sanctification.  I call it discipleship.  My life’s mission is to make disciples by leading others to Christ and encouraging them to treasure Christ and live like Him.  Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:19).

Finishing WellThe burning ambition of my heart is to finish well.  Paul wrote, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done” (2 Cor. 5:10).  Later he wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim. 4:7).
